Off Islamorada, Florida Keys
Rising from the turquoise water south of Islamorada, Alligator Reef Lighthouse has marked one of the Florida Keys' most dangerous reefs since 1873. The elegant iron tower is best seen by boat and remains a powerful symbol of Keys maritime history.
Fernandina Beach
Constructed 1838 - 39 (present site). First lighted: Spring 1839. Listed in National Register.

Tarpon Springs
Constructed in 1887. First Lighted September 15, 1887. Deactivated in 1985. On National Historic Register listing.
Boca Grande
Built 1890. First Lighted December 31, 1890. Deactivated 1966-1986. On National Register Listing.
Cape Canaveral
Constructed in 1848 and 1868. First Lighted: 1848; May 10,1868; July 25, 1894. In the late 1890's, it was moved to a site one mile inland because of shoreline erosion.
Key Biscayne
Constructed: 1825, 1846. First Lighted: December 17, 1825 (first tower); October 24, 1846 (present tower). On National Register Listing.
St. George Island
Constructed in 1852. First Lighted 1852. Deactivated in mid 1994. On National Register Listing. Restored as a private aid to navigation by the Coast Guard on November 1, 2009.
Port St. Joe
Contructed in 1885. First Lighted: June 30, 1885. Deactivated Jan 18, 1996
Off Key Largo
Constructed in 1852. First lighted Mach 10, 1852. It is the oldest iron screwpile lighthouse still functioning in the US.On the National Register Listing.
Seahorse Key
Constructed in 1854. First Lighted August 1, 1854. Deactivated in 1915. On National Register Listing.
Carrabelle
Constructed 1895. First Lighted October 28, 1895. Deactivated May 24, 1994. On National Register Listing.
St. Petersburg
Constructed 1857-1858. First Lighted May 1858. On National Register Listing.
Off Key Biscayne
Fowey Rocks Lighthouse has stood directly on the reef east of Key Biscayne since 1878. Its open iron framework replaced Cape Florida as the area's principal seacoast light and remains an active, boat-access landmark within Biscayne National Park.
Fort Jefferson, Dry Tortugas
Constructed in 1886. First Lighted November 1, 1886.
Gasparilla Island
Built 1891 in Delaware. Moved to Gasparilla Island in 1927
Hillsboro Beach
Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse has marked the reef-lined coast between Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach since 1907. Its black-and-white iron tower still displays a powerful second-order Fresnel lens and opens for a limited schedule of boat-access tours.
Jupiter
Constructed:1854 - 1860. First Lighted: July 10, 1860. Original first-order Fresnel lens, possibly the oldest in the state. Federally designated as the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area in May, 2008 by President George W. Bush..
Key West
Constructed 1847. First Lighted January 15, 1848. On National Register Listing. Deactivated: December 1, 1969. Restored in 1989-91.
Loggerhead Key, Dry Tortugas
Loggerhead Key Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in the Florida Keys, rising 157 feet above a remote island in Dry Tortugas National Park. Its black-and-white brick tower is visible from Garden Key but requires a separate boat trip to visit.
Pensacola
Constructed 1856 -1858. First Lighted January 1, 1859. On National Register Listing.
Ponce Inlet
At 175 feet, Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse is Florida's tallest lighthouse and one of the nation's best-preserved light stations. Visitors can climb 203 steps, tour three keeper dwellings, and see an exceptional collection of restored Fresnel lenses.
St. Augustine
Built 1871; restored in 1994-95 and again in 2000. On National Register Listing.
Jacksonville
Constructed in 1858. First Lighted January 1, 1859. Deactivated 1929. Tower was repainted by the Navy in 2000.
St. Marks
Constructed 1829-1830, 1842. First Lighted 1831,1842. On National Register Listing.
Off Key West
Sand Key Lighthouse rises from a reef southwest of Key West where earlier buildings were repeatedly swept away by hurricanes. The surviving 1853 iron tower is a familiar snorkeling landmark, but it is inactive and accessible only from the water.
Sanibel
Constructed 1884. First Lighted August 20, 1884. On National Register Listing.
Off Marathon
Sombrero Key Lighthouse has towered above the reef south of Marathon since 1858. The 149-foot iron structure endured generations of hurricanes and isolated keepers, and today it is best seen by boat, plane, or from the shores of Sombrero Beach.
